Razor's Edge I wonder what she sees When I look into her eyes I wonder what she's thinking And what knots her mind has tied I wonder if she sees me As I really am And if she sees the precipice The edge on which I stand For as my mind does wander Pulling me to either side My balance on this razor's edge Does only sanity provide To one side is the plunge Headfirst into love Where her whims do I fulfill As for the hand the glove And my every waking hope Is for the sparkle in her eye And every dream's desire To hear her softly whispered sigh But in this realm where all my thoughts Contain the woman of my dreams Her swinging knife across my heart From my throat rip unmatched screams On the other side is silence A tune I know too well For it contains the sound I heard At every last farewell The silence of my heart and mind As I stare towards the screen And crush the pangs of lonliness With rocks from heights unseen Where the only soul inside my heart Is the one that looks like me And no one comes within a mile Before I scurry up a tree 'Tis a pit which can my soul entrap Given nothing more than breath 'Tis a chasm which I will escape With nothing short of death So I walk here on the razor's edge Taking care to hold my grip And always stay in motion Else on my blood I'd slip.
